The Quietus is pleased to be able to bring you the latest album chart from the good people at the Coalition of Independent Record Shops. What's more, we've got the top ten best slabs of artwork from 2008, courtesy of the equally good people at Art Vinyl.

Scroll down to the bottom of this piece to see our gallery of the top ten sleeves in the Best Art Vinyl Award. The full top 50 is currently on display on the walls at Rough Trade East, Snap Galleries in Birmingham, Fishmarket Gallery in Northampton and the Perfect Pad Gallery in Norwich.

Speaking about the Best Art Vinyl Award, Art Vinyl director Andrew Heeps said "For the past four years the Best Art Vinyl award has very much celebrated the work of new emerging artists and graphic designers, so this year it has been a real surprise to see how some past artistic works have proven to be so popular from 2008's record cover designs"

Scroll down to see the Top Ten on The Quietus, and visit Art Vinyl website for more information about what they do.
