Cinematic Santas - The Least Convincing And Naughtiest Santas on Film
The Quietus , December 18th, 2008 09:51

In the spirit of humbuggery, The Quietus looks at some of the worst excuses for Santa ever to disgrace the silver screen, and provides Top Trumps-style stats on their performance. Whether they're slightly implausible or just plain evil, this bunch is a disgrace to the ruddy uniform.

Trading Places - Drunk Santa
Aykroyd, who has had his cushy lifestyle forcibly interchanged with that of homeless man Eddie Murphy in order to settle some nature v. nurture related bet, returns to reclaim his job in a Santa disguise. He crashes a Christmas party, shoves a surprising amount of food and drink into the TARDIS-like interior of his suit, pulls a gun, gets peed on by a dog, consumes some bread partially tangled in his beard and attempts to overdose in the bath. Until Bad Santa, this was the highest concentration of 'Santa engaged in most un-Santa-like behaviour' ever captured on screen.
