Modern day masters of ambient doom Nadja have revealed that their typically packed schedule for 2009 involves releasing a covers album - the highlight of which is a drone metal version of A-ha's 'The Sun Always Shines On TV'.

The album, which will be completed before summer next year via on The End records, also features covers of tracks by The Cure, My Bloody Valentine and Canadian cult comedy concern Kids In The Hall.

Speaking to The Quietus at their recent London gig Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff also said that they had both recently quit their day jobs in a Canadian bookstore to produce music full-time. Don't be surprised if Nadja now have time to release 67 albums next year.

Here's a list of the cover versions the band told The Quietus would be appearing on the record:

My Bloody Valentine 'Only Shallow'
Aha 'The Sun Always Shines On TV'
Codeine 'Pea'
Slayer 'Dead Skin Mask'
The Cure 'Faith'
Elliott Smith 'Needle In The Hay'
Swans 'No Cure For The Lonely'
Kids In The Hall 'Long Dark Twenties'
