Under A Blood Red Sky re-release to see the light of day

U2

As a follow-up to the reissuing of their classic first three albums (as reviewed on The Quietus), U2 are putting out a reissue of the legendary (tm) live album Under A Blood Red Sky this autumn. The record, first released in 1983, will also be issued on posh viny on September 29th.

The same day will see the release of Live At Red Rocks on DVD. Recorded at the Red Rocks venue on June 5th 1983, the concert will include five previously unreleased songs, a commentary and a special Dolby mix for those of you with high-end tellys.

One U2 fan who'll be running out to buy himself a copy is the unfortunate Karl Wiosna. Wiosna, of Graig in South Wales, has had his entire music collection destroyed by a judge after bothering neighbours by blasting his favourite U2 and Cher ditties at high volume. "The noise was unbearable. It was like a drag queen's party," said one angry neighbour.

Wiosna had previously been served with a noise abatement order by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. Failure to comply resulted in his music collection and stereo equipment being seized, and a fine of £265 imposed.
